What they say:

The Grape Kalecik Karasi (sometimes abbreviated to KK) is a dark skinned Turkish grape variety used in the production of light- to medium-bodied red wines. Though often regarded as the country’s finest red wine, Kalecik Karasi is largely unknown outside Turkey. It is primarily grown in north-central Turkey, an area rich in viticultural history.

What we say:

Well who knew that Turkey have been making wine before we even knew what wine was! And not just any old wine, but outstanding with its own unique character like no other. Premium quality wine that gets you excited yet slightly annoyed you’ve only just found it!

This is a light bodied wine best served slightly chilled you may be surprised to know. With an earthy base and lots of fruit this wine is intense in flavour and a great accompany with food. The tannins are there but not overpowering, the unique flavour only available from Turkey and the spicy notes make this amazing.

For those that like a classic French Pinot Noir or Beaujolais you should love this. They do remind you more of a French style wine with that historical classic style to them. Based on the fact they have been making wine since the beginning of time it’s not surprising!
